the Walrus's Gala

My evening started out lovely and ended the same.  My two year old son and i made homemade chocolate chip cookies, and i had a couple cups of coffee with my share of sweets...Although, I forget sometimes, that caffeine has a big effect on me. Here i am at 10:00 pm, twitchy and awake, my babes asleep, my husband out of town at work. So i paint. Something any "normal" artist would do, right?

Well i'm glad i did, my art on the whim turned out swell:

I call it 'theWalrus's Gala'

And i am quite fond of it.

And whilst the coffee was still in my veins, i played at bit:

Looking forward to another art attack, i'll keep y'all posted.

Halloween!

Whew! Halloween came and left in a flash! But it did leave some fun memories. This year we decided to host a Halloween party, in inspiration of the dark yet enchanting Tim Burton's "the Nightmare before Christmas." It had a great turn out i'd say, hear are some of the pumpkins i carved with the help of my sister:

I love how they turned out.

And in the spirt of things my husband and i dressed according to theme:

The Oogie Boogie man
Sally

I absolutely love our costumes, thank you mom for teaching me to sew!

Plus who doesn't want to wear fake lashes?!

Sadly i didn't get many pictures of the decor. We had an "Oogie Boogie cave" in our bathroom, it was lit with black light with the Oogie Boogie casino style art.  A santa hat hanging inside our fireplace with more black light,  and spiderwebs everywhere. If you have a good imagination you can just see the brilliance in our decor.

And then there was the trick-or-treating:

Super Why and a Mermaid

Aren't my kids the cutest ever?!? It's alright you can say it. :)

Thus ended a very grand All Hallows Eve.

Happy Halloween!!!

Something old, into Something new!

I was feeling crafty the other day, so i made the best of it.
I have had these coasters for a while, where you can put your own pictures in them. Well i finally got tired of them being empty, so i grabbed a couple of old Reminisce magazines, and started flipping though them.
They have the neatest ads and such.  I picked through the odd little pictures, found my favorites, and put them to use:

This one is my favorite! It matches my living room perfectly!

Hee hee its a tv.

While i was flipping through the magazines i also found these amazing old Halloween postcards.
Perfect for decoration, so with the help of:

Awesome old magazines,

Old playing cards,

String,

And good ol' Mod podge!

I was able to create these beauties:

Which hang beautifully in my dinning room window:

*sigh*

Photo drop!

This past Sunday we went to a pumpkin patch and had lots of festive fun. Finding pumpkins in the pumpkin hunt, painting them afterwards, face painting, etc.  So here is a simple blog with lots of pictures...Cue photo drop!

Is this not the most mischievous picture??

waiting for the hay ride to start

Chaotic family picture! I love how Kayla and Noah are looking at each other.

Noah found his two pumpkins!

But he was much more interested in finding sticks.

So excited to find them!

Stomping on a DECAYED PUMPKIN!! Yes, Kayla used "Decay".

I adore her freckles.

Painting pumpkins!

Kayla asked if she could paint her own face;

Her response to getting some one her nose.

Kayla's Flower or pumpkin, depending on when you ask her.
